Jira for Scrum Masters
9 Jira skills you must hold as Scrum Master
Scrum Master, Project Manager, or Agile Coach, here are the Atlassian Jira skills you must have
Todays’ world requires technical skills for management jobs and soft skills for specialized positions. As a Scrum Master, you’ll need to learn to use the digital tools to support your mission as a servant-leader for the scrum team and communicate with the stakeholders to maximize the value delivery.

As a Scrum Master, your role is to ensure:
- the team has the technical tools to communicate and to work efficiently
- the Product Owner can know the visibility
- the Management has visibility on the progress
Atlassian Jira is one of the most popular Task Management tools for development tools. Lately, I could even say that it is the standard tool used by the development teams.
# 1 Manage Atlassian Jira user groups and project roles
There is nothing more frustrated than not see what you need to do and misunderstandings and miscommunication. The first thing you want to make sure as a Scrum Master is that everyone has access to your Task Management system,
#2 Build and configure Jira workflows
While default settings are great to use as a starting point, each team is unique, and each product is outstanding. As a Scrum Master, you want to offer your team the support needed, so the workflow makes the communication smooth.
#3 Configure boards for multiple audiences
Enable the Product Owners and the management to keep track of the information that matters for them at any time.
#4 Configure Dashboards for the key stakeholders
Atlassian Jira allows you to display essential information in a Dashboard. I like to use this tool to communicate with top management on team performance.
